Alastair Cairns is the Head of Insights at Addepar. He joined from Credit Suisse, where he was co-head of Global Products and Solutions in the Private Banking & Wealth Management Division. Earlier, he held a number of senior positions in the Asset Management Division, including Head of the Americas and Head of Strategy, M&A, and Product Development. He joined Credit Suisse from Silver Point Capital, where he was Head of Business Development. Alastair began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner in the Financial Institutions Group. He has degrees in Physics and Economics from Queen’s University in Canada and a Masters in Economics from the University of Chicago.
As VP of Business Development at MyVest, Mike develops strategies, identifies market opportunities, and drives adoption of our wealth management platform, The Strategic Portfolio System™ (SPS). Prior to joining MyVest, he held a number of key positions at CheckFree (now part of Fiserv), including Director of Marketing, VP of Development, and VP of Product Management. Mike has a BS in economics from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
Michelle is a results driven executive with over 25 years of experience in the areas of Technology Client Engagement, Product Strategy-Development for financial services. As Director of Technology Client Engagement, Michelle formulates and communicates BNY Mellon Pershing’s technology strategy and consults Broker-Dealers and Advisory firms on how Pershing solutions can help them grow, scale and compete. The team she manages engages strategic clients and supports new business development efforts and act as experts on Pershing technology solutions available for Advisors and Investors, with a focus on integration, collaboration and efficiency. Her team represents Pershing at over 26 External Events every year. Michelle is also a passionate advocate for clients and leads the planning and execution of Pershing’s Technology Advisory Board where C level executives, from many of Pershing’s most strategic clients, gather to collaborate on technology trends, integration strategy and new design concepts. Michelle is a polished public speaker often invited to speak at Pershing and industry events on topics ranging from Advanced Technology, Advisor and Investor Experiences and Data and Analytics in Wealth Management.
Tricia Haskins is vice president of Practice Management and Consulting for Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Ms. Haskins leads the strategic consulting team that is focused on helping wealth management firms thrive in an environment of transformational change. Her team works with firms to develop and implement strategies to achieve growth, client service and productivity goals, and create lasting value for firms and their clients. As shifting investor demographics, rapid technology innovations and the advisor supply-demand imbalance provide tremendous opportunities for firms determined to lead the future of wealth management, Ms. Haskins and her team are experienced in working with these firms to develop and implement a digitally-enabled strategy to transform their business and attract more diverse clients, expanding into new segments and addressing changing client expectations. Ms. Haskins joined Fidelity in 2004. Prior to her current position, Ms. Haskins led the technology & operations consulting team, focused on Fidelity’s RIA segment. She also led the design and development of the reporting and alternative investment functions as product manager of WealthCentral for Family Offices. Before joining Fidelity, Ms. Haskins was responsible for designing, implementing and integrating the technology platform at a single-family office. She also spent a number of years at Advent Software as a consultant, implementing the suite of technology applications, and advising firms on how to effectively use the technology to manage their business. She began her career managing the operations of an independent advisor in San Francisco.
Greg O’Gara (Moderator)
Greg O’Gara is a senior research analyst for Aite Group's Wealth Management practice, focused on retail clearing, operations, financial advisor technology, and other topics across the wealth management industry. He has done extensive research on managed accounts, financial services competitive positioning, the U.S. regulatory environment, and investor behavior—recommending tactical and strategic responses for clients. Before joining Aite Group, Mr. O’Gara was with TD Ameritrade for eight years. He was hired to start the firm’s Competitive Intelligence Group and served as director of Competitive Intelligence and Business Development. He covered all public and private full-service and discount brokers for the firm, including product, pricing, platforms, marketing, acquisitions, RIA custody, and emerging competitive threats. He served in various strategic advisory roles at the firm. Prior to TD Ameritrade, Mr. O’Gara worked in strategic marketing, research, and competitive intelligence positions for TIAA, Prudential Financial, UBS, and PaineWebber.
