Club Officers

Our talented team of officers consists of distinguished business leaders from many industries. They are also dedicated club members who serve in a volunteer capacity, without remuneration. Members in good standing who have been actively involved in the club’s operation and have a deep understanding of our visions and goals, they donate their time to strengthening the alumni network and providing overall direction, decision-making, and management of the club’s activities.

Officers are responsible for implementing the broad directives provided by the Board of Directors. They manage the day-to-day operations of the club with responsibility for recruiting volunteers, overseeing the club’s events calendar, managing club finances, and making executive decisions in financial, legal and operational matters.

Officers are elected by membership vote.


Ilene Moskowitz
    Ilene has been co-President of Columbia Business School Alumni Club since 2015. Ilene is also co-founder and chair of the new Innovation & Strategy Committee, presenting “Trailblazers” who transform products, services, processes, organizations, and industries. 

Ilene has built a career as a successful consultant developing brand, communications and development developing and integrating brand, communications and development initiatives for consumer, high net worth, corporate and institutional sectors, and foundations. She’s also held senior positions in marketing and strategic planning for companies like Bank Leumi and Price Waterhouse. She’s an active member of the Leadership Council of the Financial Women’s Association and an advisor to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She currently works as the Chief External Affairs Officer for the National Organization on Disability.   

Aziza Jamgerchinova, '13

Aziza is a media executive who works with CEOs, senior management teams and principal investors to drive digital growth at premier global media companies.  She became the President of the Club in 2016. Previously, she served as a member of the Board of Directors of CBSACNY and as a Co-Chair of Media & Technology Committee, which aims to build a vibrant community of alumni with interest in high-tech and new media.

She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a Class of 2006 graduate of Columbia Journalism School.


Jeffrey Ferguson, JD/MBA

    Jeffrey is the Treasurer and a Board Member of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York. He is a Manager of Alternative Investments Valuation at KPMG, a position he has held since March 2015. He provides valuations of privately-held securities and assets for investing, transaction, and corporate planning purposes. Previously, he worked for Empire Valuation Consultants as an Associate and Senior Associate, where he used his advanced financial modeling skills and analytical abilities to build financial models and provide equity research for hedge funds.

In addition to receiving his MBA from Columbia Business School, Jeffrey is an attorney (Brooklyn Law School) who used his legal talents for Deutsche Bank for five years prior to working in finance, specializing in financial regulation, compliance, and regulation Jeffrey lead and organized a popular and informative Emerging Markets Event for CBSAC/NY in 2015. 

Laura Thompson
    Laura is the Corporate Secretary at the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of New York. As past Co-Chair of the Distinguished Leaders Committee, she played an instrumental role in organizing events featuring high profile leaders from many industries. She is an international Certified Executive/Life Coach, marketing communications consultant, and writer who has worked with leading companies in the financial services, legal, hospitality, and non-profit industries. Laura has served as a Governing Board Member and Officer for over 12 years in the arts, educational, and media sectors. She is the UN Permanent Representative for a French NGO, O.M.E.C.A., based in Paris, and, a founding member of the UN Parliamentary Assembly. Laura received a BA in Finance & Management at Simmons College, an MA in International Relations at Boston University in Paris, France, studied at INSEAD, and, also at Columbia Business School’s Institute for Personal Leadership.
