Blockchain: Recasting the Payments Industry's Future

The second event in our Blockchain Series will focus on using this emerging technology to enable payments between parties. Using the inherent qualities of blockchain, companies are building solutions which promise to be more secure, faster and be able to reduce fraud.

Existing payments systems involve separate ledgers for the payer and receiver, and these transactions are usually manually reconciled. Such a set up requires multiple intermediaries who - sparsely regulated - can drive up transaction costs. Blockchain can provide transparency and reduce the number of intermediaries with the use of shared distributed ledgers, consensus among participants and an immutable history of the transaction. And some solutions use their existing infrastructure to provide their customers with additional benefits of blockchain.

Please come to hear from our exciting panelists as they cover this application of blockchain along with the successes, challenges and the future of it. They will also cover the regulatory landscape which is evolving as the technology itself evolves. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
