Corporate Entrepreneurship, Distinctive Strategies & Leadership For Long-term Growth

A talk by CBS Executive in Residence, Adjunct Professor Leonard Sherman

Author of the recently published book: If You're in a Dogfight, Become a Cat! - Strategies for Long-Term Growth

Companies across all industries are facing the challenge of sustaining profitability over the long term. While most are trapped in the raging dogfights within their industry, a few, such as Apple, Fedex, and Starbucks, have distinguished themselves and attained the holy grail of business, long-term profitable growth.

How did they succeed? How can you make your product or service outperform competition?

Prof. Sherman will challenge conventional wisdom and examine what business strategies and leadership qualities and how corporate entrepreneurship and innovation are essential to long-term profitable growth.

Leonard Sherman is an Executive in Residence and Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School and Forbes contributor, with over 40 years of experience in business, teaching and research on business strategy and entrepreneurship. He received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2013. Prior to his academic pursuits, Prof. Sherman served as a Senior Partner at Accenture, a General Partner in Accenture’s Corporate Venture Capital Group, a managing partner of J. D. Power and Associates, and was a partner at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Sherman has a BS in aeronautical engineering, and an MS and Ph.D.in transportation systems from M.I.T.

Read Professor Sherman’s articles on Forbes on these and related topics.

Attendees can participate in a raffle to be held at the end of the event to win six copies of Professor Sherman’s book, If You're in a Dogfight, Become a Cat! - Strategies for Long-Term Growth. The book is also available for purchase at the event and at Amazon
