The national economy remains weak and finding investors for startups and small businesses continues to be difficult. However, companies can improve their chances of procuring funding by having a better understanding of the angel and venture capital industries. The event will focus on the top ten categories of knowledge that all entrepreneurs and small business owners should be conversant in, including: • What are the current trends in angel and venture capital investing? • Who you can and can’t rely upon for accurate information. • How to determine if your company is fundable. • The importance of having a strategic plan to raise capital. • Assessing potential investors; targeting those favorable to your industry. • Why you must take control of the funding process. • Terms: It’s not about dilution but dissolution. • Strategic “do’s and don’ts” of dealing with investors. • Navigating your way through due diligence. • Investor access and advice – should you pay or not?
